It seems likely Johann Nicolaus named his young son after his uncle Jürg Phillip and asked that uncle to be a baptismal sponsor.  The other sponsor, Eva Elisabeth Geredtin, may have been the sister of Johann Nicolaus, with Geredtin being her married surname.

Jacob).
