At the time of his enlistment, on 8.Oct.1861, he was living in Union, Scioto, OH. He was wounded on 1.May.1863 during the Battle of Port Gibson, which resulted in the first Union victory of the Vicksburg Campaign. Zachariah was mustered out in New Orleans, LA on 12.Nov.1864 ==== Residence ==== After their marriage, Zachariah and Lucinda moved west. The 1870 census record shows them in Monon, White, IN. They moved on to Illinois and by 1876 were in Illinois.
