Sarah "Sally" Hall (1802-1881)

Unfortunately, little is known about Sarah. Indeed, although her birth surname is purported to be Hall, there are no known records confirming that. According to her grave marker, she was born on 28.Sep.1802, and various census records shows her birthplace as Maryland. The will of Richard F Marshall (1798-1845) establishes that he had a wife named Sarah “Sally,” and later census records indicate that she is the mother of the children named in Richard's will.

We also know that Sarah died on 28.Sep.1802 and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Waseka, Iroquois, IL. It is likely that Sarah died in the home of widowed daughter Elizabeth, which is where she resided at the time of the 1880 census.
